ARX Mouldings has followed reports saying that IFC and SSC Ship Management, MTM Ship Management and Stolt Tankers all independently cooperated for the first time on a ship security drill. We were able to test our info-sharing processes and exercise precautions to ensure the security of the ship.
“Collaborating with IFC, SSC Ship Management and Capricornus Leader was an enlightening experience that gave us insight about the efficacy of our protocol and identifying improvements that can be made. We are grateful for this opportunity to experience a simulation like this and hope there will be future collaborations again.” Capt. Si Thu Kyaw, Fleet Quality / Safety Manager.
Through realistic scenarios carried out during the drill, it was an opportunity for MTM Ship Management to enhance their operational readiness to exercise established info-sharing procedures against MARSEC threats.
“The drill scenario was an ideal security situation for shipboard piracy and it was well exercised. MTM Ship Management takes this opportunity to thank the IFC for organising such a joint exercise. We look forward to more such drills in the future.” Capt N. Padhi, DGM, HSSQE, Group DPA/CSO/EMR, MTM Ship Management Pte Ltd
The IFC and Stolt Tankers carried out a drill, which reinforced the importance of timely info-sharing and establishing strong processes between IFC, Stolt Tankers and the shipmaster.
We would like to thank Stolt Tankers for their active participation.
It was noticed that all ship managers have used razor wire onboard their vessels which has never been proven successful against an attempted boarding. ARX Mouldings recommends following enhacned best management practices and installing Anti-Piracy Barriers and Water Cannons to prevent boardings from taking place.
